Otey L. White, III

President

BA Journalism
Louisiana State University

It would be terribly misleading to say that Otey likes LSU Football. Love is probably not a strong enough word either. Otey truly bleeds purple and gold. When he’s not cheering on his Fighting Tigers or spending quality time with his family, he’s working. If he’s not doing any of those things, paramedics should be called to the scene.

Otey is a devoted father of three that has attended hundreds of sporting events to cheer on and coach his children. Whether it’s the pool, the pitch or the ball field, Otey photographs every bit of the action. If he’s not taking photos he’s in them. Over the span of his career he’s been awarded ADDYs, Tellies, Lanterns, Pinnacles, the prestigious Pete Goldsby Silver Medal Award and the Ralph Sims Lifetime Achievement Award plus more than a few slaps on the back from more than a few non-profits that he has volunteered to help. These honors are great but he prefers to measure success by the scoreboards kept in the accounting departments of OWA’s customers. Like his beloved Tigers, those results are known to draw plenty of cheers, lifelong supporters and loyal customers.

“Baton Rouge happens to be the worst place in the world for a visiting team. It’s like being inside a drum.” -Paul “Bear” Bryant

Jennifer Gordon

Senior Account Director

BA Public Relations
Louisiana State University

MBA, Wilmington University

If you were to use one word to describe Jennifer it wouldn’t be a word at all. It would be a laugh. Not any snicker or snort would do. It would have to be hers. This unique noise isn’t just a laugh. Her boisterous battle cry is her way of seizing the day. Like a true adventurer she grabs it by the roots. When the weather cooperates Jennifer fills her free time with camping, canoeing, bike riding, exploring and crashing waves.

These outdoor adventurers aren’t just a walk in the park. The consequences of her adventurous spirit include two sprained ankles, a broken leg, a fractured wrist, knee surgery and two chipped teeth. Yes, Jennifer plays hard but she works even harder. Thankfully for her and our health plan her long hours don’t translate into doctor visits. They do translate into success. Her work with non-profit organizations outside of OWA has included helping to raise over 1.8 million dollars for a recent Capital Campaign. If you think that sounds good then you should really hear her laugh.

“If you don’t like something, change it. If you can’t change it, change the way you think about it”

Kim Gilly

Account Executive

BS Marketing
Louisiana State University

When it comes to having all of the right ingredients to succeed in this business, Kim has it all measured out to perfection. It was evident when she first joined us as a student worker back in (year here). Kim quickly rose through the ranks from intern to Account Executive to opening OWA’s first office in Chicago. During this meteoric rise, Kim’s baking talents were in just as demand as her skills in account services. In her spare time, she baked and sold customized treats she called “Silly Gilly Desserts.” Despite what the name suggests there was nothing silly about her cookies because they were seriously delicious.

While baking is still a passion of hers, she prefers to spend her time making memories with her three, very-active daughters. How does she do it all? For starters, Kim is exceptionally organized, and her attention to detail is unmatched. When things don’t quite follow the recipe, Kim knows is adept at thinking on her feet and solving problems on the fly. All in all, she’s one smart cookie.

Piper Wilson

Financial Director

BA Business
1996 Louisiana State University

Piper is good with numbers – big numbers, small numbers, round numbers, and even complex numbers. Her 20 years with OWA are a testament to her way with integers. For 13 of those years Piper has done an impressive job of balancing our numbers with some of her own. As the mother of three active kids Piper stays pretty busy. To most people 3 is just a number that comes after 2 and before 4. The same can’t be said for Piper’s busy bunch. When she’s not balancing budgets she’s balancing her schedule with football games, baseball games, soccer matches, gymnastic meets and more.

It’s a fast-paced life but that’s the way Piper likes it. Despite her busy schedule she still finds time to partake in some friendly competition of her own. In addition to handling all of OWA’s account payables and receivables she also handles the opposition on the tennis court. This is when her experience with big numbers come into play. If you happen to be on the opposite side of the net you may see bright a green blur come into play but it’s quickly out of play for a match point.

A good financial plan is a road map that shows us exactly how the choices we make today will affect our future.”

Ariana Dalmau

Art Director / Graphic Designer

Graphic Design Studio Art BFA & Digital Media Art + Technology Minor

Louisiana State University

The world is her canvas. Whether it’s the stroke of a brush, the blending of charcoal or the scratching of a pencil Ariana has an exceptional ability to bring incredible richness and depth into her two-dimensional works of art. It’s only when Ariana puts down the traditional tools of the trade, that you can fully appreciate the full extent of her creativity. in the kitchen Ariana crafts up mouth-watering Puerto-Rican dishes (check out her recipe book here) that sometimes look too good to eat. Like her art, the dishes have a way of bringing people together and always asking for more.

As a kid, Ariana would make PowerPoint presentations for the fun of it. Not much has changed other than the fact that she now gets paid to have fun. When she’s not making presentations, Ariana enjoys making cardboard cat condominiums for her Siamese Cat, Astraea, and watching tons of anime. Her favorite animes include Naruto, Demon Slayer, My Hero Academia, One Punch Man, and Ouran High School Host Club. As a frequent con attendee, Ariana has yet to cosplay. If you have any suggestions on characters from her favorite shows, please submit your ideas to her in PowerPoint, just for fun.

Jeff English

Special Project

BA Advertising
Louisiana State University

Jeff isn’t a full-time OWA employee but the time he does provide is full of one thing, creativity. While his official title is a little ambiguous the 25 years of results for clients such as Woman’s Hospital, Hancock Bank and McDonald’s are not. We consider Jeff the Navy Seal of merry band marketers. When a high-profile, specialized project comes our way we turn to Jeff’s extensive experience to help clients achieve their goals and objectives. The proof is in the pudding and in the numerous awards he’s accumulated. Some of his most memorable accolades include a National Telly Award and the Pete Goldsby Lifetime Achievement Award.

When he’s not concocting campaigns Jeff is busy perfecting his craft…beer. To say he’s serious about his home brewing would be a slight understatement. Jeff brews them blonde, bold, dark and stout and enjoys pairing them with something succulent from his Big Green Egg. Whether it’s his latest brew, a sizzling steak or an award-winning campaign don’t be afraid to ask for seconds or thirds.

“The World is a book, and those who do not travel read only a page.”

Trent Bland

Creative Director / Copywriter

BA Communications
Louisiana State University

Trent is a bit of a nerd. He loves bad 80’s movies, Ninja Turtles, nerd shirts and books – lots and lots of books. More importantly though is his love of creativity and marketing. In fact a lot of his free time is engulfed in activities closely related to advertising. He spends a large percentage of time reading, writing, editing video and dabbling in design. In addition to using those passions for our clients he also puts them to use as a Vice President for American Advertising Federation of Baton Rouge – a local non-profit dedicated to fostering and promoting advertising interests in our community

Beyond creating award winning work for the past 8 years he’s also created two beautiful children that can often be found roaming the halls of our office. He hasn’t won any awards for them yet but his son does have a nice collection of soccer medals that have made their way to his LinkedIn profile.

“A room without books is like a body without a soul.”

Jack White

Broadcast Production Manager

BA History
2008 Louisiana State University

Jack is bit of an audio snob. Want to anger him? Try sign language. That’s not entirely true, but what is true is his love of mixing and fixing audio. When he’s not dabbling with decibels he’s out there raising some of his own. Jack his a huge fan of the Saints, Astros, Rockets, Pelicans and everything LSU. As far as fans go he’s not passive. He’s an active participator. While the players are sacrificing blood, sweat and tears Jack is in the stands offering up every fiber of his vocal cords to the cause. Once those give way he fills the silence at home with some savory sounds from his guitar.

The sound that Jack enjoys most of all is a simple symphony of his own creation. His instrument is a 14 lb. bowling ball. The song starts with a “thump” of the ball as it greets the synthetic surface. It’s then followed by a steady drum roll as it quickly comes to a crescendo as the ball collides with a thunderous boom between the 1 and 3 pins. Like a lot of things, bowling is something Jack takes seriously. The pile of bowling trophies he has in his possession speak of his success, and that’s just how he likes it. His work always speaks for itself.

“Geaux Tigers!”

Jacob Lofton

Account Executive

Louisiana State University

Jacob is one of our newest hires who is busy learning the agency ropes. Outside the office, it’s Jacob who is showing us a thing or two about ropes. Jacob is an avid outdoorsman who enjoys exploring his surroundings. His most thrilling trip came in the Ozarks at Buffalo River. “Being so remote and camping along the river was the most exciting and calm camping experience I’ve had.”

In order to get the most out of his outdoor expeditions, Jacob has to think small. With just a backpack and a hammock at his disposal, Jacob understands the importance of bringing only what he needs. Each item is carefully considered before it makes its way into his bag. It’s skills like these that have made Jacob a much-welcome addition to our account management team. Jacob understands cost-benefit analysis and approaches each client challenge with a clear focus and foresight. He came to us as a member of PR team (he’s a member of both PRAL and PRSSA) but has shown the rare ability to handle all aspects of the markets world. His continuous pursuit of perfecting his craft makes him a valuable member of our team. While nature will always be his first home, we’re happy to have Jacob make OWA his home away from home.

Chelsea Goldsmith

Social Media Director

BB Marketing
Louisiana Tech University

There is no one you’d rather have on your sideline more than Chelsea. As a former gymnast turned cheerleader Chelsea knows all about engaging people and turning them into rabid, foam-finger-shaking fans. While her acrobatics for managing a majority of our client’s social media accounts is a site to behold, Chelsea’s skills as a sports and portrait photographer are the real crowd pleaser. In today’s digital landscape, a picture’s worth is no longer measured in words, but in likes and engagement. With Chelsea as the presence behind our client’s brands online, she ensures the visuals are on point and brand.

Always organized and ever prepared with a well-thought-out plan, Chelsea is consistently able to deliver creative solutions to achieve our clients’ desired results and backed with quantifiable results. The personal touch she provides when responding on behalf of the brand is just another way Chelsea helps our clients win on social media. All in all, we’re flipping head over heels over head over heels in love with her performance.

Lauren Cullen

Social Media Director

BA Mass Communications with Digital Advertising focus
Centenary College of Louisiana

Lauren is an introverted extrovert who hails from the crimson-colored heart of Boomer Sooner nation. If we were to rate her performance as our Social Media Director on a scale from one to ten we’d all be holding up perfect tens. As a former gymnast, she is no stranger to our tough ten-point grading scale. Now that her days of perilously gracing the balance beam are done, she now shares her passion for aerial acrobatics by coaching the next generation of gymnasts. Her involvement in the sport doesn’t stop there. Lauren is also a judge for USAG sanctioned meets.

As a level 8 judge, Lauren has high attention to detail that helps her spot flaws that others may not notice. It’s an attribute that has served her well as our Social Media Director. Within a few short weeks, she helped analyze and reshape our digital strategy to help create more engaging content for our clients and delivering higher returns on their investment. You don’t have to take our word for it. Take a look at her work and judge for yourself
