Otey L. White, III

President

BA Journalism
Louisiana State University

It would be terribly misleading to say that Otey likes LSU Football. Love is probably not a strong enough word either. Otey truly bleeds purple and gold. When he’s not cheering on his Fighting Tigers or spending quality time with his family, he’s working. If he’s not doing any of those things, paramedics should be called to the scene.

Otey is a devoted father of three that has attended hundreds of sporting events to cheer on and coach his children. Whether it’s the pool, the pitch or the ball field, Otey photographs every bit of the action. If he’s not taking photos he’s in them. Over the span of his career he’s been awarded ADDYs, Tellies, Lanterns, Pinnacles, the prestigious Pete Goldsby Silver Medal Award and the Ralph Sims Lifetime Achievement Award plus more than a few slaps on the back from more than a few non-profits that he has volunteered to help. These honors are great but he prefers to measure success by the scoreboards kept in the accounting departments of OWA’s customers. Like his beloved Tigers, those results are known to draw plenty of cheers, lifelong supporters and loyal customers.

Kylie Collins

VP of Account Services

BA Public Relations
Louisiana State University

After doing the math, by carrying the one and solving for “x” we’ve concluded that Kylie owns 53 pairs of shoes beyond what is required for a person with max number of feet. To her credit they’re organized by style, color and season. On the surface this appears to be a useless fact but it touches on something deeper - no, not her soul. It speaks to her organizational skills. Kylie creates, plans, implements, purchases and organizes for a large number of clients and does it with ease.

One of the few things more important than shoes are the people alongside her matching them step for step. Most often these are the footsteps of her supportive parents and older brother. When not roaming her home town of Pineville, LA the footfalls are those of close friends at an LSU tailgate or a Barre Workout. If you were to ever walk a mile in her shoes you may walk 2. No matter the style she is always the picture of comfort and confidence.

Jennifer Gordon

Senior Account Director

BA Public Relations
Louisiana State University
MBA, Wilmington University

If you were to use one word to describe Jennifer it wouldn’t be a word at all. It would be a laugh. Not any snicker or snort would do. It would have to be hers. This unique noise isn’t just a laugh. Her boisterous battle cry is her way of seizing the day. Like a true adventurer she grabs it by the roots. When the weather cooperates Jennifer fills her free time with camping, canoeing, bike riding, exploring and crashing waves.

These outdoor adventurers aren’t just a walk in the park. The consequences of her adventurous spirit include two sprained ankles, a broken leg, a fractured wrist, knee surgery and two chipped teeth. Yes, Jennifer plays hard but she works even harder. Thankfully for her and our health plan her long hours don’t translate into doctor visits. They do translate into success. Her work with non-profit organizations outside of OWA has included helping to raise over 1.8 million dollars for a recent Capital Campaign. If you think that sounds good then you should really hear her laugh.

Melanie Cassidy

Senior Account Manager

BA Mass Communications
Louisiana State University

Melanie is a bit of a type A personality. If we’re going to be throwing around grades for personality then we think it’s reasonable to add a plus sign alongside that A. After all, you don’t become Senior Account Manager without putting in plenty of extra credit work. Melanie is competitive, organized and one hell of a hard worker. These are all traits that she’s translated from the sport-laden days of her youth and that you see on display in everything she does.

While she’s no longer an active participant, organized sports are still a big part of her life. We think it has to do with the organized part. She has two energetic children, a boy and a girl, that share her passion for everything active. When she’s not leading the cheering section Melanie loves nothing more than to travel with her family and create lasting memories. The only difference in Melanie’s travels is that she doesn’t go from point A to point B. She’s going from point A to point A+.

Piper Wilson

Financial Director

BA Business
1996 Louisiana State University

Piper is good with numbers - big numbers, small numbers, round numbers, and even complex numbers. Her 20 years with OWA are a testament to her way with integers. For 13 of those years Piper has done an impressive job of balancing our numbers with some of her own. As the mother of three active kids Piper stays pretty busy. To most people 3 is just a number that comes after 2 and before 4. The same can’t be said for Piper’s busy bunch. When she’s not balancing budgets she’s balancing her schedule with football games, baseball games, soccer matches, gymnastic meets and more.

It’s a fast-paced life but that’s the way Piper likes it. Despite her busy schedule she still finds time to partake in some friendly competition of her own. In addition to handling all of OWA’s account payables and receivables she also handles the opposition on the tennis court. This is when her experience with big numbers come into play. If you happen to be on the opposite side of the net you may see bright a green blur come into play but it’s quickly out of play for a match point.

Blake Breaux

Art Director

BFA Graphic Design & Photography
2005 Louisiana State University

Blake isn’t human. We wouldn’t go as far as to call this a fact. It’s just a strong deduction based on empirical evidence collected after a year of close observation. At the very least we consider him part-man, part-machine since he is always connected to his computer. He’s often spotted working on weekends, early mornings, late nights and even during the occasional Baton Rouge snow storm to ensure his latest project is a visual masterpiece. While he may not be able to leap tall buildings in a single bound he can whip up some pretty convincing evidence in Photoshop.

When he’s not wearing his art director cape he’s sporting his singer/songwriter underwear on the outside of his pants. He’s a local favorite in Baton Rouge clubs and night spots. Like his art, his music has its fair share of fans. In fact, his skills even landed him a tryout on the Voice. The world’s loss is our gain and it can be yours too. As you’ll discover on your own, Blake isn’t human. He’s super-human and a pretty swell guy to have on your team.

Jeff English

Special Project

BA Advertising
Louisiana State University

Jeff isn’t a full-time OWA employee but the time he does provide is full of one thing, creativity. While his official title is a little ambiguous the 25 years of results for clients such as Woman’s Hospital, Hancock Bank and McDonald’s are not. We consider Jeff the Navy Seal of merry band marketers. When a high-profile, specialized project comes our way we turn to Jeff’s extensive experience to help clients achieve their goals and objectives. The proof is in the pudding and in the numerous awards he’s accumulated. Some of his most memorable accolades include a National Telly Award and the Pete Goldsby Lifetime Achievement Award.

When he’s not concocting campaigns Jeff is busy perfecting his craft…beer. To say he’s serious about his home brewing would be a slight understatement. Jeff brews them blonde, bold, dark and stout and enjoys pairing them with something succulent from his Big Green Egg. Whether it’s his latest brew, a sizzling steak or an award-winning campaign don’t be afraid to ask for seconds or thirds.

Trent Bland

Creative Director/Copywriter

BA Communications
Louisiana State University

Trent is a bit of a nerd. He loves bad 80’s movies, Ninja Turtles, nerd shirts and books - lots and lots of books. More importantly though is his love of creativity and marketing. In fact a lot of his free time is engulfed in activities closely related to advertising. He spends a large percentage of time reading, writing, editing video and dabbling in design. In addition to using those passions for our clients he also puts them to use as a Vice President for American Advertising Federation of Baton Rouge – a local non-profit dedicated to fostering and promoting advertising interests in our community

Beyond creating award winning work for the past 8 years he’s also created two beautiful children that can often be found roaming the halls of our office. He hasn’t won any awards for them yet but his son does have a nice collection of soccer medals that have made their way to his LinkedIn profile.

Jack White

Broadcast Production Manager

BA History
2008 Louisiana State University

Jack is bit of an audio snob. Want to anger him? Try sign language. That’s not entirely true, but what is true is his love of mixing and fixing audio. When he’s not dabbling with decibels he’s out there raising some of his own. Jack his a huge fan of the Saints, Astros, Rockets, Pelicans and everything LSU. As far as fans go he’s not passive. He’s an active participator. While the players are sacrificing blood, sweat and tears Jack is in the stands offering up every fiber of his vocal cords to the cause. Once those give way he fills the silence at home with some savory sounds from his guitar.

The sound that Jack enjoys most of all is a simple symphony of his own creation. His instrument is a 14 lb. bowling ball. The song starts with a “thump” of the ball as it greets the synthetic surface. It’s then followed by a steady drum roll as it quickly comes to a crescendo as the ball collides with a thunderous boom between the 1 and 3 pins. Like a lot of things, bowling is something Jack takes seriously. The pile of bowling trophies he has in his possession speak of his success, and that’s just how he likes it. His work always speaks for itself.

Haleigh Pope

Account Coordinator

Bachelor of Arts - Mass Communication
Louisiana State University

Honest, loyal, hard-working and friendly – these are the traits of Haleigh Pope, OWA account coordinator. They also happen to be those of the students in the fictional world that proudly wave the canary yellow and black scarves of house Hufflepuff. Haleigh is a Hagrid-sized fan of the famous wizarding world of Harry Potter, though she is far from Hagrid-size in real life. As a muggle – a non-magical person – Haleigh can’t vanish, float or fly but she does do a bit of magic around the office to keep the work flowing and our accounts organized. Ten points for Hufflepuff!

It suits her well because organization is her thing. The shirts and dresses in her closet are organized by sleeve length and then by color. So when the day calls for a forearm length green shirt with white polka dots, she knows it’s just after the section of blue and aquamarine shirts. It’s all about that ROYGBIV order. To say that we’re happy to have Haleigh on our team is an understatement. We’re tickled pink, which should put us in the spring clothes at the back of the closet.

Tarah Mason

Media Buyer

Bachelor of Arts - Marketing
Southeastern Louisiana University

There are few things more important to Tarah than family. While her own ranks at the top of the list the Kardashians, Real Housewives of (insert major U.S. city here) and the latest Bachelor are pretty high on the pecking order too. Sure, these shows may be seen as mindless TV but that’s just how Tarah likes it. It leaves plenty of room for more mindful things to take up all of the valuable real estate in her head. As OWA’s Media Maven she assists with media planning, buying, special event management and corporate marketing communications.

Tarah does a little bit of everything but she truly excels when it comes to planning and buying. Unlike the stars of her favorite reality shows she looks beyond the superficial. She digs deep to find all the pertinent details to build the best media plan possible. Due to her extensive research and experience she is able to negotiate great rates regardless of the size of the budget. She’s done it all for national automotive giants like Toyota Automotive and NAPA AUTO PARTS and local companies like Cox Communications of New Orleans. While the plans may differ the objective is always the same: make the goals a reality. After all, it’s what she loves.

Neil Smith

Web Developer

A.A. Information Technology with Programming Focus
ITI Technical College

Cool, calm and collected. That is Neil Smith. As OWA’s lead web developer he takes on any challenge we send his way and does it with a smile on his face. Nothing seems to faze this Captain of Cool. Try as you might you cannot push his buttons. If you did, you’d likely order yourself a pizza. Long before Domino’s introduced their pizza ordering app and Twitter ordering by emoji, Neil crafted a button that automatically orders him a little slice of heaven topped with ground beef, ham, red onion, chicken, black olives, and an ice-cold Coca-Cola to wash it all down.

Neil’s appetite for ingenuity doesn’t stop there. He’s currently building a robot that will take his trash can out to the street and then retrieve it the next day. This leaves him more time to enjoy hiking, camping, snowboarding and dogs. Neil doesn’t find solutions. He builds them. If he can build pizza ordering buttons and rubbish wheeling robots, imagine what he can do when it comes to building a website. To find out just push our button, the one on the contact page.

BA Mass Communications with Digital Advertising focus
Centenary College of Louisiana

Lauren is an introverted extrovert who hails from the crimson-colored heart of Boomer Sooner nation.
